Russia's central bank has released draft regulations that would establish a formal framework for cryptocurrency exchanges, digital depositories and digital asset accounts ahead of the country's planned crypto market rollout. The proposals are designed to bring greater structure and oversight to the country's growing digital asset industry.

Under the proposed framework, crypto exchanges would be able to create their own trading procedures, while digital depositories would be required to meet minimum capital requirements and maintain detailed records of cryptocurrency holdings and transactions. The central bank would also oversee official registers for licensed market participants.

The draft regulations mark another step towards a regulated crypto market in Russia. If implemented, the framework could provide greater legal certainty for exchanges and custody providers while strengthening oversight as the country continues expanding its digital asset infrastructure. ☕
