Hey crypto addicts,

Tether is facing fresh scrutiny in Washington after a U.S. Senate investigation examined the use of USDT in Iran-linked financial networks. The investigation analyzed 846 sanctioned or targeted crypto wallets and found that 84% had transacted exclusively or almost exclusively in USDT, according to the Senate report. Tether has pushed back by highlighting its cooperation with authorities and saying it has helped freeze nearly $550 million in Iran-linked USDT this year.

The dispute puts stablecoin compliance back at the center of the crypto market. Tether’s ability to freeze specific USDT addresses gives regulators a direct enforcement mechanism, but the Senate investigation is questioning whether the company has acted quickly enough against sanctioned networks. The findings could add pressure on stablecoin issuers as the U.S. moves toward a more formal regulatory framework for digital dollars.

The developments could have wider implications for the stablecoin industry, particularly as USDT remains the dominant dollar-pegged asset globally. The debate now extends beyond adoption and liquidity to how issuers monitor illicit activity while maintaining a permissionless financial network. Strategy Adds Bitcoin

Strategy has added another 1,665 BTC to its corporate treasury for approximately $175.4 million, bringing its total holdings to 640,031 BTC. The latest purchase comes as the company continues using equity and preferred-stock financing to expand its Bitcoin position. Strategy also repurchased $152 million worth of its STRC preferred stock, showing that its capital strategy is increasingly focused on both Bitcoin accumulation and managing its preferred-share structure.

The company paid an average of about $105,363 per Bitcoin in the latest purchase, while its total Bitcoin holdings were acquired at an average cost of roughly $74,995 per BTC. The latest buying brings Strategy’s Bitcoin treasury to more than 3% of Bitcoin’s total eventual supply. The company continues to position Bitcoin as the core asset of its corporate treasury.

The move highlights how corporate Bitcoin strategies are evolving beyond simple accumulation. Companies are increasingly using multiple forms of capital to build BTC exposure while also managing their equity and preferred-stock markets. Strategy’s latest purchase keeps corporate demand firmly in focus as Bitcoin moves through a period of heightened market activity. Here’s what you need to know from today’s crypto market.☕

Crypto Gets Priority

D3 is expanding its Web3 domain platform with priority access to domains tied to major blockchain ecosystems, including Solana and Hyperliquid. The new offering allows users to claim names connected to these networks before wider availability, creating another layer of digital identity around crypto communities. The domains are designed to work across wallets, applications, and other Web3 services.

The move comes as blockchain ecosystems increasingly compete to build recognizable digital identities beyond wallet addresses. Solana and Hyperliquid have developed large user communities, and domain names could make interactions across their ecosystems easier and more familiar. D3’s approach also brings traditional domain-registration concepts into the decentralized internet.

The development highlights how Web3 identity continues to evolve alongside blockchain adoption. As more users interact with multiple networks, human-readable domains could become an important layer connecting wallets, applications, and digital assets. Trading Gets Bigger

BingX strategy chief Kevin Lee says crypto traders are increasingly looking beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum as market infrastructure expands across a wider range of assets. He argues that traders now want access to equities, commodities, forex, and other markets from the same platforms they already use for crypto. The shift reflects growing demand for a more unified trading experience across traditional and digital assets.

Lee also pointed to the growing role of derivatives, institutional participation, and tokenized real-world assets in expanding crypto trading infrastructure. As exchanges add more products, traders can gain exposure to different markets without moving between multiple platforms. This trend is pushing crypto exchanges closer to the broader financial-market model.

The development highlights how the crypto industry is evolving from a single-asset ecosystem into a broader financial marketplace. With tokenized stocks, commodities, and other assets increasingly moving onchain, the competition may increasingly focus on providing access to the entire market rather than crypto alone.
