Hey crypto addicts,
Robinhood Chain is facing a slowdown as decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volume fell 23.1% over the latest seven-day period to $5.255 billion. The decline raises questions about whether the network can maintain the momentum it gained after launching in July, especially as traders become more cautious. Despite the drop in activity, the chain continues to hold significant capital, suggesting that users are not necessarily abandoning the ecosystem.
According to DefiLlama data, Robinhood Chain still has approximately $1.132 billion in total value locked (TVL), while its stablecoin market capitalization stands at around $1.05 billion. However, its weekly spot trading volume now trails competitors such as Solana, BNB Chain, and Base. Perpetual futures activity has also weakened, falling 4.62% over the same period, pointing to a broader cooling in trading activity.
The slowdown has sparked debate over whether Robinhood Chain needs stronger incentives, more ecosystem development, or simply more time to mature. Supporters argue that building sustainable financial products takes longer than a few months, while critics question whether the network can turn its early excitement into lasting demand. With tokenized stocks and DeFi applications still central to its ambitions, the coming months will be crucial in determining whether Robinhood Chain can regain momentum. Bitmine Doubles Down

Bitmine Immersion Technologies is continuing its aggressive Ethereum accumulation strategy, purchasing another 10,452 ETH while bringing its share buybacks close to $400 million this year. The latest acquisition raises its total holdings to approximately 6.05 million ETH, representing 4.95% of Ethereum’s total supply. Despite recent market weakness, the company is maintaining its long-term accumulation strategy while approaching its ambitious goal of owning 5% of all ETH.
Alongside its Ethereum purchases, Bitmine repurchased 2.04 million shares for approximately $45.9 million over the past week. Its total buybacks for 2026 have now reached $399.6 million, reflecting management’s view that the company’s shares may be undervalued. Meanwhile, more than 5.22 million ETH are staked, with the company estimating annualized staking revenue of around $318 million at current yields.
The dual strategy highlights Bitmine’s effort to strengthen both its Ethereum treasury and shareholder value. Chairman Tom Lee remains optimistic about the crypto market, viewing the recent pullback as a potential opportunity rather than a sign that the bull cycle is over. However, whether continued ETH accumulation and share repurchases will pay off depends on future market conditions and the performance of Ethereum itself. Vanguard’s Bitcoin Connection

Vanguard is gaining indirect exposure to Bitcoin through a reported $7.5 million investment in Japanese Bitcoin treasury company Metaplanet. Its FTSE All-World ex-US Small-Cap ETF (VSS) disclosed a holding of 4.5 million Metaplanet shares, drawing attention because Vanguard has historically taken a cautious approach toward crypto. However, the investment represents exposure through company shares rather than direct Bitcoin ownership.
The position is relatively small, accounting for approximately 0.07% of VSS’s reported $11.34 billion in assets. Other Vanguard funds have also held Metaplanet shares, suggesting that index-tracking portfolios can gain exposure to Bitcoin-focused companies as part of their broader equity investments. The reported holding does not necessarily signal a deliberate change in Vanguard’s overall crypto strategy.
Metaplanet held 44,000 BTC as of September 30 and continues to pursue an aggressive Bitcoin treasury strategy. While Vanguard’s reported stake adds to institutional interest in companies holding Bitcoin, Metaplanet’s share price closed 0.75% lower at ¥263 despite the news. The development highlights how traditional investment funds can gain indirect crypto exposure through public markets, even without buying digital assets themselves. AI Meets DeFi

Injective is expanding the connection between crypto and artificial intelligence with a new onchain market tracking Nvidia GPU rental prices. Launched on October 26, the Super Intelligence Compute Index (SICI) allows traders to speculate on changes in AI computing costs through perpetual futures contracts offering up to 10x leverage. The move brings a key part of the AI infrastructure economy into decentralized finance as demand for computing power continues to grow.
The index tracks five Nvidia GPU models: the H100, B200, H200, A100, and RTX 4090, with the H100 carrying the largest weighting at 40%. Built by London-based capital markets firm LO, the benchmark uses hourly rental-price data from computing marketplaces and updates throughout the day. Contracts use USDC as margin and could help AI developers hedge against rising computing costs while allowing infrastructure providers to manage the risk of falling rental prices.
The launch builds on Injective’s earlier efforts to bring AI-related assets and real-world markets onchain. However, whether SICI attracts significant trading volume remains uncertain, particularly as the market for GPU rental derivatives is still developing. With AI infrastructure becoming increasingly important to the global economy, the product could open a new avenue for connecting traditional computing costs with blockchain-based financial markets.
