Hey crypto addicts,
Polygon Labs is strengthening its push into stablecoin payments after completing its acquisition of Coinme, securing regulated payment coverage across 48 U.S. states. The deal brings 37 money transmitter licenses and 11 exemptions into Polygon’s payments business, helping connect blockchain transactions with traditional banking infrastructure. As stablecoins move beyond trading, Polygon is positioning itself to capture growing demand for faster cross-border payments and digital-dollar services.
Meanwhile, BitMEX is facing a $20 million lawsuit in the UK from a trader who alleges the exchange offered unregulated financial products that led to substantial Bitcoin losses. The case challenges more than 1,000 losing perpetual-swap trades made between 2018 and 2022, with the claimant seeking the return of 324.8 BTC or equivalent damages. The allegations add to the legal scrutiny surrounding crypto derivatives and the responsibilities exchanges have toward their customers.
Together, the developments highlight two contrasting forces shaping the crypto industry: expanding real-world adoption and continued regulatory pressure. While Polygon is building the infrastructure to bring stablecoins into mainstream payments, BitMEX’s legal battle underscores the risks and accountability issues that remain in crypto trading. Kraken Enters Banking

Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, has agreed to acquire Saldo Bank, a European Union-licensed lender, in a move that could bring crypto and traditional banking closer together. The deal is expected to close in 2027, pending regulatory approval, and would make Payward the first crypto-native company to acquire a European bank.
The acquisition would expand Payward’s services across five European markets, opening the door to interest-bearing deposits, consumer and business loans, credit cards, and euro payments. By combining banking infrastructure with its existing crypto services, the company aims to let customers manage cash, digital assets, and credit through a more integrated financial platform.
The move reflects a broader shift as crypto companies compete to become full-service financial providers rather than trading platforms alone. If approved, the acquisition could strengthen Kraken’s position in Europe and intensify competition with traditional banks. Here’s what you need to know from today’s crypto market.☕
Binance Delisting Shock

Binance is removing Epic Chain (EPIC) and QuickSwap (QUICK) from its spot trading markets on October 28, triggering sharp price swings across both tokens. QUICK dropped nearly 20% in 24 hours, while EPIC fell around 11%, highlighting how quickly exchange decisions can affect smaller crypto assets. The announcement followed Binance’s latest review of its listed tokens.
Both projects had previously carried Binance’s Monitoring Tag, which flags assets facing increased scrutiny. The exchange evaluates factors such as liquidity, trading activity, development progress, security, and team commitment when deciding whether a token should remain listed. Futures contracts will be settled earlier, on October 20, while withdrawals are scheduled to remain available until December 28.
The decision highlights the growing importance of exchange listings for altcoin liquidity and investor confidence. For smaller projects, losing access to a major trading platform can reduce market access and increase volatility as traders reassess their positions. Ethereum Wallets Under Attack

An Ethereum user has lost approximately $22,770 in ETH after an attacker exploited a malicious wallet authorization enabled by EIP-7702. The incident, reported by blockchain security firm ExVul, involved 9.1231 ETH and additional TAPEETH tokens, highlighting the risks that can emerge when users grant smart contracts permission to operate through their wallets.
The attacker reportedly used a sponsored transaction to activate malicious code that could access the victim’s account. ExVul said the theft did not result from a vulnerability in the TAPEETH token or PodMining protocol, but from an unsafe authorization. The firm also warned that the malicious delegation remained active after the funds were drained.
The incident underscores a growing challenge for Ethereum’s account-abstraction features, which are designed to make wallets more flexible but can introduce serious risks when permissions are abused. As these tools gain adoption, carefully reviewing wallet authorizations will remain essential to protecting digital assets. Here’s what you need to know from today’s crypto market.☕
